Graduate students presented the Domestic Violence Emergency Food Pantry with over 1,000 pounds of food, baby supplies and toiletry items.

On Thursday, April 24, 2014, the graduate students of Adelphi University, School of Social Work Hudson Valley Center, presented the Domestic Violence Emergency Food Pantry of the Family Services Program with over 1000 pounds of food, baby supplies and personal toiletry items.

Each semester the Adelphi University Graduate Student Association votes for their favorite local charity. This semester it was Domestic Violence Emergency Food Pantry of the Family Services Program in Poughkeepsie that won the vote. The goal of this Graduate Student Association drive was to collect the most needed supplies of non-perishable food and baby items which included canned meats, baby food, diapers, pasta, sauces, oatmeal, etc. Moreover, the Adelphi students raise awareness of the much needed service The Domestic Violence Emergency Food Pantry offers its clients who are attempting to re-establish their lives in a safe environment.

The Adelphi University, Hudson Valley Center embraces a tradition of quality education with an emphasis on small classes, personalized attention and academic support to those who wish to pursue a Master of Social Work degree.
