A Message from the Coordinator of Social Work Admissions
The Office of Graduate Admissions provides ongoing assistance in all aspects of the admission process to the Master of Social Work program.
We offer personalized attention to support you in your decision to apply, guide you through the application process, and provide you with individual professional advisement upon admission to the program.
To help you in the decision-making process to apply, we hold regularly scheduled information sessions throughout the academic year at each of our locations, including our Garden City campus and the Manhattan, Hauppauge, and Hudson Valley Centers. During these meetings, prospective applicants have the opportunity to review admission requirements, the various plans of study offered by the School, and address any individual concerns and questions.
In addition to our information sessions, representatives from the School of Social Work meet with prospective applicants at admissions events scheduled by the University.
The School of Social Work admits students to the M.S.W. program on a rolling admission basis. We strongly suggest that applicants for the M.S.W. program submit their applications before the Priority Admission deadlines:
Applications for full-time study received after the priority dates will be considered on a space-available basis.
The School will continue accepting applications on rolling admissions until admission goals are met for the semester. Admissions decisions are made year-round and applicants whose credentials have not been reviewed for a particular semester will be "rolled over" to the next available semester.
The Admissions Office welcomes your questions. We are here to help.
