The Field Education Program plays a pivotal role in student education. It is in the field work experience that students, utilizing classroom theory and knowledge, test out skills toward developing professional competence and identity.
The overall objective of field education is to produce a professionally competent, ethical, self-evaluating, knowledgeable social worker with the capacity to learn and the initiative to keep on learning.
As educators, we strive to model and to help our students to bring their humanity and authenticity to their practice, to act with courage, and to develop a vision about making a contribution toward the amelioration of the social problems that face our society today.
