Understanding and treating domestic violence remains a challenging clinical issue. This workshop will expand upon traditional approaches by using screening and assessment tools that effectively identify levels of risk and plan for appropriate interventions that protect the safety of the victim. These tools include a differential assessment that examines lethality and resiliency factors. Information to assist the victim with safety planning will be provided. The final segment will focus on recognizing the system barriers that often fail to adequately address abuser accountability.
