Ethics and Liability in Clinical Supervision

This interactive workshop will focus on the major legal and ethical issues involved in clinical supervision. There will be opportunities to explore accepted standards and accountability. The impact of legal requirements on the clinical relationship will be explored. Through presentation of current research and case studies, models of ethical decision making as well as guidelines for risk management will be discussed. Knowledge of the various models will increase awareness regarding supervision, ethics, and liability.

About the Instructor:
Robert Hazlett
Ph.D., LCSW is the executive director of the Long Beach Island Community Center in Long Beach Township, New Jersey. He is a child custody assessor for Ocean County New Jersey’s Superior Court. Dr. Hazlett is a trainer for the School of Continuing Education at Rutgers University and has taught courses in human development, psychopathology, and group dynamics. He also maintains a private psychotherapy practice.

Credentialing Information: Program information has been submitted for approval to the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services Education and Training for 6 training credits toward earning or recredentialing the CASAC.

Continuing Education Credits: 6 Continuing Education Credits will be given through the New York State Chapter of the NASW. Certificates of Attendance will be issued day of program.
