Online Course
This online continuing education course meets the New York State requirement for training of mandated reporters of child abuse and maltreatment. Effective September 1, 2004, licensed social workers in New York State are mandated reporters and must complete the training requirement upon application or renewal of licensure. Adelphi has been designated as an approved provider of this course.
Go to http://socialwork.adelphi.edu/childabusemodule/ to review the course material, register, and take the test. Once you have passed the test, you can print out the certificate of completion and submit it with your LMSW or LCSW application or renewal. Graduating Adelphi MSW students submit the certificate of completion directly to the School along with Form 2 of the NY State LMSW application.

Postgraduate Certificate in Addiction Treatment
This is an intensive training program designed for the experienced clinician. Responding to the recent emphasis on co-occurring disorders and the challenges of working with complex clients, this certificate program provides an integrated and sophisticated approach to understanding theoretical perspectives, treatment approaches and cutting edge evidence-based knowledge essential for effective addictions assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. This program focuses on working with a variety of client populations including individual adults, adolescents, and children as well as their families

Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision
This is an intensive training program designed to promote a deepened understanding of the theories, values, and principles that inform supervision. Through the core/integrative seminar (course work and ongoing consultation) and four full-day workshops, participants will focus on the challenges, issues, and dilemmas that shape their work as clinical supervisors. Some fundamental elements of this program include: the therapeutic use of self, choosing an effective model of supervision, supervision as a developmental process, performing and addressing transference and counter transference issues, difficulties and impasses in supervision, and cultural awareness. Supervisors will also refine their skills for developing capable practitioners and professional leaders.

These workshops and programs enable social work professionals to refine their skills, meet mandated requirements, and respond to current social needs. They are designed to promote effective interventions with individuals, families, and groups in vulnerable populations.
