SWK 511: Human Behavior Theory For Social Work Practice II 3 credits This course builds on the foundations acquired in SWK 510 and continues with a multicultural perspective on the human life cycle. It begins with a brief review of the theoretical perspectives covered in SWK 510. It introduces ego psychology and functional and dysfunctional ego mechanisms as well as providing an exploration of concepts relating to stress and coping. It continues the discussion of the human life span in SWK 510 in the context of social systems and relevant theory. The period beginning with adolescence and ending with death is examined.
